Radial gradients can be repeating-linear-gradients(): /* Note the RADIAL */ Just to be clear, with repeating-linear-gradient() you are best off doing a -webkit-repeating-linear-gradient() as well as the unprefixed one, if you’re, you know, prefixing buy yourself which you shouldn’t. See the Pen oCpEu by Chris Coyier ( on CodePen. Or, just use repeating-linear-gradient(): background: repeating-linear-gradient( You could use the same method as above for vertical stripes too. If you wanted to get crazy, you could transform: rotate() some element with these straight stripes and cut off the overflow, in which to replicate diagonal stripes with deeper browser support. See the Pen uxJrf by Chris Coyier ( on CodePen. But you could kinda fake it, especially for straight stripes, by making a small rectangle of background via background-size, drawing the stripes in there, and having it repeat naturally like background-image does. Those browsers don’t support repeating gradients. There is a super old syntax for CSS gradients that used -webkit-gradient() (note the no “linear” or “radial”). ![]() Straight Stripes (slightly better browser support) See the Pen qfHmw by Chris Coyier ( on CodePen. You could reveal part of the image by making some stripes fully transparent and some fully opaque. See the Pen xhkpD by Chris Coyier ( on CodePen. Because of multiple backgrounds (and stacking order), you can do that all together on a single element: background: If you make the background a regular linear-gradient(), and then make half the stripes totally transparent using repeating-linear-gradient(), it can appear as if the stripes have gradients. Tell Me Quick, How Do I Connect With WPS? Reset Button - allows you to reset your router to the factory default settings. If you are unsure, please refer to your router’s instruction manual. This will vary depending on your router, but generally, you will be looking for a physical button that will often be marked out with either the letters WPS or with two arrows pointing in opposite directions. The pin code method is not as secure as the push button method and as such many people recommend that you should either ensure that this method of authentication is disabled on your WPS router or even completely disable the WPS feature. While the push button method of using WPS is generally secure, WPS can also be accessed by using an eight digit pin code. It should be mentioned that certain versions of WPS may not be quite as secure as using a strong password. WPS will then take over and automatically connect your device. Some devices such as cameras and printers will have a dedicated WPS button, while others, like some laptops, will simply require you to try to select the chosen network as you normally would. The WPS button is located at the back of the Netgear router alongside the Ethernet port on the router. The way you use WPS will depend on the device you are trying to connect. This has a number of benefits, mainly that it is generally much easier to connect a new device if you don’t have to worry about entering your password every time. WPS, on the other hand, allows you to simply connect with the push of a button. However, one downside is that it does make it more difficult to connect to your network. There are many important reasons to have a strong password, including the fact that having a stronger password will reduce the chance of outsiders accessing your network and therefore stealing your data. Normally when you connect to a router, you have to find the network you want to connect to and then put in a long and complicated password to connect. In the above image, let’s assume that the number 8 has only two possible solutions out of the ones marked at the end of the axis in yellow. To apply this technique, you need to find 2 rows and 2 columns where a single digit is a candidate in only two cells of each. It is a straightforward technique that focuses on one single digit, and its goal is to restrict the number of cells that can have that number as a possible candidate. X-Wing sudoku trick is for medium to hard difficulty level puzzles. Because of that, you can dismiss all other candidates marked in green cells so that only the 4s and 6s are left. Thus you can understand that these two candidates have to be in those two-column boxes. However, candidate 4 and 6 is not there in the rest of the 3×3 space. ![]() They are both in the same column and have numbers 4 and 6 as potential candidates. ![]() Let’s have a look at the two cells that contain green-marked candidates. Still, it affects the cells containing the candidates, i.e., instead of dismissing numbers from other cells, this technique dismisses other numbers from the paired cells themselves. The Hidden pair Sudoku trick is very similar to the Naked pair. This technique can also be used for three (Triplet) or four (Quad) candidate numbers. Now, because in one of the two boxes (number marked in green), you must have a 2, and in the other a 3 (or vice-versa), you can conclude that there cannot be any 2s or 3s in the same column, row, or square, and thus you can dismiss them. Look at the 3×3 square at the bottom right corner, marked by possible candidates. Let’s look at the Sudoku puzzle in the example given below: If two cells in the same block, row, or column can have only the same pair of candidates, then we can dismiss them from all the other cells in the same block, row, or column. Most of the techniques used to solve Sudoku puzzles work by eliminating candidates. The original Klamath Pentium II microprocessor (Intel product code 80522) ran at 233, 266, and 300 MHz and was produced in a 0.35 μm process. The '82459AD' revision of the chip on some 333 MHz and all 350 MHz and faster Pentium IIs lifted this restriction and also offered a full 4 GB cacheable area. Presumably, Intel put this limitation deliberately in place to distinguish the Pentium II from the more upmarket Pentium Pro line, which has a full 4 GB cacheable area. While this limit was practically irrelevant for the average home user at the time, it was a concern for some workstation or server users. Īll Klamath and some early Deschutes Pentium IIs use a combined L2 cache controller / tag RAM chip that only allows for 512 MB to be cached while more RAM could be installed in theory, this would result in very slow performance. General processor performance was increased while costs were cut. The slower and cheaper L2 cache's performance penalty was mitigated by the doubled L1 cache and architectural improvements for legacy code. The improved 16-bit performance and MMX support made it a better choice for consumer-level operating systems, such as Windows 9x, and multimedia applications. It was cheaper to manufacture because of the separate, slower L2 cache memory. The Pentium II was basically a more consumer-oriented version of the Pentium Pro. The Pentium II was also the first P6-based CPU to implement the Intel MMX integer SIMD instruction set which had already been introduced on the Pentium MMX. 2 on the Pentium Pro) these can also be used by either pipeline, instead of each one being fixed to one pipeline. To compensate for the slower L2 cache, the Pentium II featured 32 KB of L1 cache, double that of the Pentium Pro, as well as 4 write buffers (vs. The issues with partial registers was also addressed by adding an internal flag to skip pipeline flushes whenever possible. Most consumer software of the day was still using at least some 16-bit code, because of a variety of factors. Intel improved 16-bit code execution performance on the Pentium II, an area in which the Pentium Pro was at a notable handicap, by adding segment register caches. Off-package cache solved the Pentium Pro's low yield issues, allowing Intel to introduce the Pentium II at a mainstream price level. However, its associativity was increased to 16-way (compared to 4-way on the Pentium Pro) and its size was always 512 KB, twice of the smallest option of 256 KB on the Pentium Pro. The L2 cache ran at half the processor's clock frequency, unlike the Pentium Pro, whose off die L2 cache ran at the same frequency as the processor. This larger package was a compromise allowing Intel to separate the secondary cache from the processor while still keeping it on a closely coupled back-side bus. A fixed or removable heatsink was carried on one side, sometimes using its own fan. The processor and associated components were carried on a daughterboard similar to a typical expansion board within a plastic cartridge. Unlike previous Pentium and Pentium Pro processors, the Pentium II CPU was packaged in a slot-based module rather than a CPU socket. The Pentium II microprocessor was largely based upon the microarchitecture of its predecessor, the Pentium Pro, but with some significant improvements. However, the older family would continue to be produced until June 2001 for desktop units, September 2001 for mobile units, and the end of 2003 for embedded devices. ![]() In February 1999, the Pentium II was replaced by the nearly identical Pentium III, which only added the then-new SSE instruction set. The Xeon was characterized by a range of full-speed L2 cache (from 512 KB to 2048 KB), a 100 MT/s FSB, a different physical interface ( Slot 2), and support for symmetric multiprocessing. The Celeron was characterized by a reduced or omitted (in some cases present but disabled) on-die full-speed L2 cache and a 66 MT/s FSB. In 1998, Intel stratified the Pentium II family by releasing the Pentium II-based Celeron line of processors for low-end workstations and the Pentium II Xeon line for servers and high-end workstations. However, its L2 cache subsystem was a downgrade when compared to the Pentium Pros. Containing 7.5 million transistors (27.4 million in the case of the mobile Dixon with 256 KB L2 cache), the Pentium II featured an improved version of the first P6-generation core of the Pentium Pro, which contained 5.5 million transistors.
